Development and initial validation of measures of cancer pain under- and over- treatment : a scoping review
Co-Principal Investigators : Lynn R Gauthier, Manon Choinière, Gabrielle Pagé, Lucia Gagliese

There is very little known about the quality of pain management in people with chronic cancer-related pain after cancer treatment. On the one hand, pain undertreatment impacts quality of life, and could cause a significant economic burden. On the other hand, pain over-treatment could have major consequences as well, but it is not well understood. There is currently no consensus on how to measure the adequacy of pain management making it difficult to understand the quality of pain management and whether there are gaps in care.

This scoping review aims to identify factors that reflect pain under- and over-treatment to improve the measurement of the quality of cancer pain management.
